Hiking trails
How could you become better acquainted with the countryside than on foot? Those who hike through Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will see steep cliffs and gentle lakes, hear the soothing sounds of lapping waves and the call of the cranes and experience quiet villages as well as lively cities.
The state has a well developed network of trails for those travelling by Shank’s pony. Hence the European hiking route No. 9 runs for 400 kilometres along the Baltic Sea coast. It touches seaside resorts and Hanseatic cities and leads past the beauties of the Bodden landscape of Vorpommern on to the nature paradise of the island of Usedom.
The uplands also host a wealth of tours for connoisseurs. Müritz National Park or the nature parks invite you to expeditions along well marked paths.
