The landscape conservation area constituting 33.4 square kilometres includes the forest areas and the park-like cultural landscape north-east of Waren from Tiefwaren Lake to Torgelow Lake. The glacial superficial forms were created during the last Ice Age. Extensive beech forests are typical of the end moraine area near Waren. The landscape around Torgelow Lake is like a park and the old oaks and beech trees constitute impressive landmarks.
Wetlands and moors, small bodies of water and steep slopes, creeks and sources are among the multitude of biotopes which characterise the landscape conservation area. Numerous erratic boulders are evidence of the landscape’s glacial heritage, while early historic earth monuments bear witness to the history of the old cultural landscape.
