The park with an area of 0.7 square kilometres guarantees extraordinary nature experiences with its unspoilt biotopes and nature trails. Sheep, goats, oxen and donkeys, horses and fallow deer belong to the park’s animal stock. In Gristow visitors will quickly learn that a sheep is not just a sheep: 18 different races live here, among which are the white-horned moorland sheep or the Carinthian sheep.
The Konik – a wild horse and direct descendent of the Tarpan horse – the Anglian saddleback pig or the Vorwerk bantam – a chicken of German origin with rare colours and markings – complete the stock of endangered domestic species to the preservation of which the nature adventure park would like to make a contribution. With its special educational and recreational programmes this park is a prime address for environmental education. And, what is more, recreation seeking holidaymakers will enjoy exploring the 9-kilometre trail network on these grounds.
