In German the word "Sülze" (aspic) has the same linguistic roots as the word "Salz" (salt). Bad Sülze refined this precious product in its saltern already in the 13th century. The Salzmuseum will take you on a historical journey back into the times of salt mining.

If you let yourself drift downstream on the Recknitz River, all you need to do is keep on an even keel and you will eventually arrive in Bad Sülze. The wild and unaffected Recknitz Valley, the Recknitztal, can be best explored on an extensive walking or bicycle tour.
