Where is paradise? - The author Fritz Reuter gives a clear answer: "...bi Groten-Bäbelin, Serrahn un Krakow, so recht middwarts in Meckelnborg" i.e. in Serrahn and Krakow near Groten-Bäbelin in the heart of Mecklenburg. This may not be verifiable; however, considering the beauty of this region, it is still well-imaginable today.

Nature and technology: Krakow offers you both. The nature park and heathland Nossentiner / Schwinzer Heide invites to ramble through its extensive woods and to discover its crystal-clear lakes and hidden dunes. If you would like to find out how a book is made, then you should visit the printing museum, the Buchdruckmuseum, where you will learn how the work was carried out on the printing press and typesetting machines in family business.
The town of Krakow was established at the foot of a Slavic fortress. Although it was probably developed by early
settlers already in the 12th century, the town was not mentioned in a charter until 1298.
When the Middle Ages were approaching their end, the town of the land-cultivating people was the centre of the
Princedom of Werle-Güstrow. Krakow became the victim of several major fires, which almost entirely destroyed those
structures dating back to the times before the last fire in 1759.
Krakow was recognised as a health resort in 1956 and has been holding the status of state-accredited climatic spa since
2000.
