Many people have probably tried to play the flute or the guitar - but the organ? In the Mecklenburg Organ Museum you can have a try on the pedals and manuals of a real organ. Besides, you can learn how these instruments function.
When you get to Malchow, first of all you will see the filigree steeple of the monastery church - Klosterkirche - especially if you reach the town by water. From the monastery you can easily walk into the old town centre. You should by all means take a look at the town hall, the most beautiful building in the old town. In Alt Schwerin, a few kilometres to the northwest, an entire farm village was turned into the Agrarhistorisches Museum (Agriculture Historical Museum). Here you can learn about the life of a farm worker.

Slawenburg - the Slavic castle - formerly situated between two lakes at a passage across the Elde, was hotly contested during the 12th century because of its strategically important location. Malchow was established on an island in the vicinity of the castle and was granted a town charter in 1235...
