Up until one thousand years ago the Slavs settled in Groß Raden near Sternberg. The way they lived is depicted in the most well-known and largest excavation site in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In the reconstructed Slav village Slawendorf Groß Raden you can relive the past.

The best way to become acquainted with the cosy town of Sternberg and its surroundings is by bike or on foot. The old town church and the small alleys in the old town are particularly worth seeing.
