Magic in the rock - in the south wall of the mill house, Mühlenhaus, stones form a mill. Due to the particular position of the blades, the mill has been attributed mystic meaning: It keeps disaster and evil spirits away from the house.

Quietly gliding along, you approach the edge of town. The best way to get to Tessin is the waterway on the Recknitz. If you prefer to stay on land, just ramble through the Recknitz lowlands. Other than the twitter of birds and the humming of insects, you will hear nothing. For fishing you will also find many hidden spots.
Already in 1121 a document testifies the existence of a Slavic fortress called "Tessyn". After the Germans
had conquered Mecklenburg, it went to ruin, but its name remained: Heinrich Borwin used the name for a new fortress,
which he erected at the beginning of the 13th century. Above all, craftsmen and merchants settled under its protection.
In the year 1321 the village was assigned the status of a town.
The Thirty Years' War destroyed the town completely. Its gradual reconstruction suffered several setbacks caused by the
large fires between 1728 and 1741. Not before the end of the 19th century did the general economic upswing also reach
Tessin: A sugar factory was built. From then on a railway linked Tessin to Rostock.
